Readying products to launch on eBay

Below is a list of items necessary to create a listing on eBay. They can be done individually or in bulk.

  1. eBay Listing Defaults – Required – Relates to listing information rather than product info.
  2. eBay Attribute Defaults – Set defaults eBay properties.
  3. eBay Description Template – eBay description templates can be used to send a formatted HTML document with product information and company branding.

  4. eBay shipping Price Template – Create a template for shipping charges to be applied on eBay listing.
    1. Domestic/International – define separate charges for destination location
    2. Flat rate / buyer location – define flat rate or calculated by location/weight of product.
    3. Exclude shipping locations – set which countries to exclude from shipping.
  5. eBay Item Specifics – Required for some categories, recommended for all listings. Provides specific product information.

    2. Custom specifics – Add your own specifics
    3. Use Amazon attributes – If there is an ASIN on product, attributes can be pulled from Amazon as custom specifics.

  6. Inventory Quantity – Inventory is automatically updated on eBay, and you can control quantity that gets sent to eBay.

    2. Safety quantity – Reserve quantity to prevent overselling.
    3. Replenishable – Set replenishable to sell a specific item regardless of the available quantity.

  8. eBay Titles – Create a title or multiple titles for eBay. Top title default to Product Name but can be modified for eBay. You must approve the top title.
  9. Max Dispatch time – This is also known as lead time to ship, or the amount of time you allow from when the order is placed until the order is shipped. Set default or product level time.
  10. eBay categories
    1. eBay Category Suggestions – Get up to 10 category suggestions per product base on keywords.
  11. Images – Required to be 500px at the widest side.
  12. Selling location – A default selling location will be set when integrating your eBay account with SellerCloud. This is based on your eBay Profile. However, you can override that on individual products. This helps eBay (and the customer) with the ETA of the order.

    1. BIN Price – Required. Price used for Fixed Price Listing
    2. Auction Start Price – Required even when posting a Fixed Listing
    3. Repricer – SellerCloud can reprice based on fixed rules, and integrates with thirdparty repricing software to reprice based on competitor pricing
  14. Workflow to expedite getting products ready for eBay:
    1. Get eBay Category suggestions
    2. Export Channel Missing Attributes. When done, populate with values and import.
    3. Import item-specific template.
    4. Enable the Client Setting to force resize images to required size.
    5. Set default fixed price listing quantity and safety quantity.
